This is a thrilling 3 day excursion to see the Whooping Cranes who are finally coming back from extinction. These cranes will have just flown in from their winter homes and will be getting ready to fly north in the Spring. Bring your binoculars for a spectacular view of these famous birds.
I have reserved a lovely Bed and Breakfast where we will arrive Thursday afternoon. After a delicious supper, we'll head over for the reception and a tour of the town.
Friday morning after breakfast, we will go into town to enjoy the presentation by Sara Zimorski, a wildlife specialist. Following lunch in town, we'll head over to the wharf where we are booked for an afternoon tour on the Wharf Cat out of Aransas Pass to visit the birds' breeding grounds. Even if it is cold, the boat has an enclosed cabin where we'll stay toasty warm.
Saturday, I am particularly pleased to report that retired Parks and Wildlife biologist Dan Jones and his wife Karen will give us a guided tour all over the Port Aransas area. With him as a guide, we will get to see amazing places no one else gets to enjoy on our own personal guided tour of the whole area.
He will have birding scopes but Dan recommends you bring binoculars. We will be visiting "Birding" vendors in case you want to buy a pair!
The $599 cost of the tour is ALL INCLUSIVE and includes all your meals, lodging, boat tour, lecture and Dan Jones as our tour guide.
