Tiny Town Tour - New Waverly

Ask the journalists from the Texas Reporter and Texas Bucket List! They love telling you about the wonderful places they have seen, the many tiny towns in Texas they have visited, and the delicious restaurants where they have eaten. But they leave us with our mouths watering and our curiosity aroused. Do they actually take us there? Nope!  

You don’t have to be jealous any longer! I’m taking on the job of satisfying your curiosity and your hunger! You won’t have to tackle the planning, the driving or the tour guiding. I am dedicating Friday afternoons to you to visit some of these fascinating and tempting places. Our newest outings: the Tiny Town Tour to New Waverly.

Did you know New Waverly (actually Old Waverly) was the Ellis Island for many of the Poles coming to the United States? We'll start our tour at the Walker County Historical Museum at the Gibbs Powell House for an exhibit on the history of New Waverly. Then we'll head down to New Waverly for a delightful lunch at Murski's (our treat) followed by a visit to the lovely St. Joseph's painted church. We'll spend the afternoon on a driving tour of Old and New Waverly with information by a local guide. It will be a fascinating tour.
